About Old Fart Woodworking
My love of woodworking has began as child ever sense I have been able to walk I have been out with my dad in his woodworking shop. I have learned from a master and I continue to play ideas off him. I have been doing fine furniture as a hobby for the past 15 years. I worked with my father in construction for a couple years and then I went into excavation for six years. I was injured on the job and cannot operate heavy equipment any more so I am turning my hobby into a business. My goal is to make high quality furniture for people who are tired of buying furniture and then throwing it away in a year. I have learned the old ways of building wooden furniture and I am continuing on making high quality products.
I build furniture that is custom made and one of a kind. In my work, I strive to maintain the style and craftsmanship of the original period while building each piece in such a way as to also bring out the essence and beauty of the wood itself. By carefully choosing wood for grain and coloring, I strive to enhance the character and charm of the piece into something that will be both unique and enduring.
